My name is Janeth, and my husband, Mike, and I bought a 1996 Coleman Sun Valley pop up for $200 last fall. Our family named her “Sunny.” She was in pretty solid shape inside, but we wanted to modernize her to meet our needs. After looking through Pinterest and finding The Pop Up Princess, I became so excited by the possibilities, that we started our own makeover.
Once the weather got a nicer, we decided to paint the cabinets and walls. Mike primed the entire thing with a primer we had leftover from another project. Then we used Rustoleum spray paint in Smokey Beige from Walmart. We reused the knobs and hardware, and I sprayed painted them with Rustoleum oil bronzed metallic paint. While the paint was drying, we changed the old light bulbs to LED to make the camper brighter at night. My husband thinks it was definitely the best decision he made. (You can read all about switching to LED lights here.)
I love hearing stories like that. I’m sure Janeth and Mike will have fond memories of camping in their little remodeled pop up camper for many years to come. Thanks so much for sharing your makeover with us, Janeth. It looks amazing. 🙂 Is camping a family affair for your family? What camping traditions are you passing on to your kids?
