Can you believe it? The Pop Up Princess is another year older. When Mr. TypeTwoFun and I started this journey, we never expected that we would meet so many awesome people. We have the BEST readers, and we feel so lucky to have you here on this adventure with us. Here’s a recap of our favorite posts from this past year, in case you’ve recently joined us.
How We Organize Our Pop Up Camper
I finally got brave this year and gave you a peek into our camper while it’s in use–no glamour shots, just real life. We showed you all our tips and tricks for organizing our camping gear and clothing while we are on the road.
Our Epic Summer Road Trip
We drove our little pop up camper from Arizona to Seattle and back. Whew! It took us three weeks, but it was the most amazing trip we’ve ever taken… and we just may want to move to Oregon now. 😉
Camper Maintenance
We covered all sorts of camper maintenance topics, from repacking and greasing the bearings to operating and emptying the cassette potti. While it may not have been as fun as the road trip posts or as glamorous as the makeovers, it was definitely necessary. If there are any camper maintenance topics you’d like to see covered in the next year, let us know! We’ll do our best to get a post out.
Reader Features
Now the fun stuff… This year, we shared even more amazing reader makeovers. I know I’ve said this before, but I am constantly amazed at the creativity and talent you guys have. It’s been so much fun sharing ideas and makeover stories with such a great group of people. I seriously love you guys! 🙂
Now we’d like to say thank you to our amazing readers. We couldn’t send a gift to each one of you–although, I really wish we could–so we will be randomly awarding $25 Amazon gift cards to two of our subscribers–just to say thank you for following our journey this year. If you subscribe to our mailing list, make sure you have confirmed your e-mail address. Then watch your e-mail inbox (and spam folder!) for a message from The Pop Up Princess to see if you are a winner! No entries necessary! We’ll notify the winners no later than Monday, May 16th.
This year has been such a blast, and we are so excited to see what comes along next year. Thank you so much for hanging around, sharing your camper remodels and modifications with us, and being so awesome. We have met some amazing people and truly believe that pop up people are the best kind of people there are!
Happy Camping!

Please help! We bought a used 2011 rockwood freedom pop up and there was little mold speck in bunk end canvas so I called the manufacturing company to get proper instructions to clean. They told me to use oxi clean. I used it on one end and it yellowed fabric in spots. I don’t know how to fix it. I been looking online and can’t find any information. Do you have any suggestions?
Larissa says
I have actually heard this more than once this week. I’m a little stumped. Have you called the manufacturer to let them know? 🙁
Do you have hard water in your area? Could the chemicals in the cleaner be reacting with the minerals in your water?
Jody says
I did call manufacturing company. I am waiting to hear back from them. They did mention after the fact that distilled water should be used next time. I am just confused on routine maintenance. The pop up is very clean and just want to know something safe to clean it after trips. Would you say woolight is the best for whole camper? The canvas is my main concern because oxi clean worked great on vinyl .
Larissa says
If your canvas is already very clean, Jody, I’d stick with Woolite, Dreft, or even diluted Dawn dish detergent. All of those (especially Woolite) are very mild and will do a great job for general cleaning and routine maintenance. 🙂

Thank you so much. i have very few little speckled spots and actually as we been cleaning it and letting in sit in the sun the few spots have faded so have the yellow staining. I think I will just live with it unless it get worse. i dont want to take chance of making it any worse. I will use woolight from now on. Does woolight work good on outside vinyl on bunk ends? Do you magic eraser for that? When you spray waterproof on do you just do canvas or vinyl too?
Larissa says
You can see our process for cleaning the outside of the camper here, Jody. Don’t spray waterproofing on the vinyl, as it will etch it and leave white streaks. Just use something like 303 Aerospace Protectant or ProtectAll on the vinyl. 🙂

Thanks to your blog, my husband thinks I’ve lost my mind when it comes to our popup. So, I have to take small baby steps when it comes to renovations. I think I have read some of your posts at least three times. I can’t wait to read about what others have done. Thank you for the blog.
Larissa says
LOL! It is definitely an addiction, Denise! Can’t wait to see what you do with your PUP! 😉
